Gaby est la plus ancienne de Julio et Beatriz Granda 3 kiddos. She grew up in the wonderful city of Lima, Pérou.
Gaby était un étudiant à l'Universidad del Pacifico, où j'ai étudié à travers l'étude internationale à l'étranger (ISA) program. The ISA student worker (notre demoiselle d'honneur, Brenda) is one of Gaby’s best friends. From the very beginning, elle nous avait suspendu si il a été trajets en bus au hasard ou danser la salsa (ouais, J'ai essayé).
Au cours de son année senior à l'Universidad del Pacifo, Gaby étudié à l'étranger à Paris, France. Gaby graduated from U.P. when she got back to Lima. She came to the USA to go to grad school in January, 2009.
Gaby studied at Oklahoma City University and graduated with an MBA in May 2010. While studying, elle interné à Voisins du Monde, an NGO that assists people in underdeveloped nations. Gaby’s now an amazing driver…depuis la conduite est un must ici dans la petite ville.
Gaby is a product manager for MD Building Products. She also teaches English to Latinos at Mount St. Mary's.

Derek est l'aîné de deux enfants. Derek a grandi à Fort Smith, Arkansas. Il est diplômé de l'UA-Fayetteville avec un baccalauréat en géologie. Pendant la pause entre ses années junior et senior, Derek a participé à un programme ISA et a choisi le Pérou — un pays où aucun élève UA-Fay a participé à travers ISA.
Avant de partir pour Lima, Derek and I started to e-mail each other and talk via MSN. Once he arrived in Peru, il est tombé follement amoureux d'une péruvienne unique (hahaha). We ended up hanging out every single day while he was there. That same year, il s'envole pour le Pérou pour un week-end pour moi surprise pour mon anniversaire… He was at the final stop of a scavenger hunt at El Olivar. In December of that year, J'ai pris l'avion pour les États-Unis. to meet his friends and family. We went to Chicago for New Year’s eve…et jouissent d'une nuit de folie de la neige au Navy Pier.
Après avoir obtenu son diplôme de Fayetteville, Derek flew to Paris to visit me for a month. We traveled all around Europe: France, Espagne et en Italie(où nous nous sommes fiancés). When he returned to the United States, Derek a passé du temps avec l'USAF.
Derek returned to Peru for a Christmas break in 2008. We flew back to the U.S together to start grad school. He’s currently a 2L student at OCU’s School of Law and working on an MBA as well. During his stay in Peru, il a appris à parler l'espagnol (mais qu'il n'a jamais pratiqué avec moi parce que je voulais juste améliorer mon anglais hahaha!). He is getting better at it everyday; il peut communiquer avec ma famille maintenant! 
He is a member of the 188th Fighter Wing of the Air National Guard. His parents, Steve et Mme. Kim, vivre à Fort Smith de même que son soeur Jill.
Comment nous nous sommes rencontrés par Derek et Gaby
We started chatting a month or so before he left to study in Peru. My (Derek) temps au Pérou comprenait l'Amazone sur un projet d'hydrologie, Paracas, Nazca et d'autres merveilles archéologiques.
It was through our group activities that the we met each other. Et si nous étions en dehors des continents, Skype dates nous a permis d'être ensemble presque tous les soirs jusqu'à ce que nous étions ensemble à nouveau en personne.
